JH Thorp Ltd was founded in June 1931 by Jack and Irene Thorp, and the business has traded from the same site ever since. With over 80 years in the industry, we’ve built up a reputation for fantastic customer care, providing customers in Alderminster and the surrounding area with top-quality used cars, reliable MOT testing, and vehicle servicing.
A family-run business, we serve customers from the surrounding area including Stratford upon Avon, Shipston on Stour and beyond, and we’re most certainly the longest-standing motor dealership in the area.
The current owners Tim and Estelle Gibbs are the third generations of the Thorp family to have worked for the business, and there was a period in the 1980s and 90s when all three generations were employed by JH Thorp at the same time.
During the 1960s and 1970s, JH Thorp dealt in Standard-Triumph and British Leyland vehicles. However, in 1977 we became an official Peugeot dealership. In the proceeding years, between 1977 and 2018, we garnered a fantastic reputation, and in 2018 we finished the year ranked as the highest dealer in the country for after-sales satisfaction.
